March 23rd marks World Optometry Day, the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) recognizes this day as an opportunity to shine the spotlight on this key eye care profession and create awareness about optometry and its practices around the world. Every day, but especially on World Optometry Day, optometrists have the opportunity to spread knowledge and expertise in order to create a huge impact and raise awareness.
After a year of uncertainty, it’s more important than ever to recognize all of the ways the profession of optometry helps patients maintain good vision, and continues to provide the highest quality of care and keeping patients and staff safe amidst a pandemic. Eye care professionals have worked tirelessly to reopen, updating practice models to follow safe distancing protocols and resume seeing their patients. Let’s celebrate this day and continue to raise awareness on the importance of vision care and overall eye health.
Optos is dedicated to enabling optometrists across the globe to provide the quality eye exams necessary for good vision. Optometrists worldwide have utilized optomap technology to improve patient workflow, clinical accuracy, and timely diagnosis and treatment for patients. Over the past year, we have heard from many doctors that optomap technology has helped them save sight and save lives during these. They have found that they were able to more easily physically distance themselves from patients during exams and with the speed and unmatched image quality of optomap images, they were able to provide comprehensive eye exams more quickly and with a high level of clinical accuracy.
With more than 18,000 devices installed across the globe, there are countless stories to be told regarding how optomap has helped save sight and save lives. So, we're calling all optometrists to TELL YOUR optomap STORY!
Optos wishes all optometric eye care professionals a happy, healthy, and safe World Optometry Day.
